Dear Family, I have fond memories of attending my first family reunion in Minnesota. Louis was roasting a pig and I had never seen a whole pig being BBQ. In addition, he was very kind and generous when he drove many miles to bring his mother to attend my mother's (Betty Liddell Burns) funeral in North Chicago, IL. Our thought and prayers are with your family.

I got to know Poppa Charles over the past 10 years, and observed his kind and gentle ways, his love for family, the way he would light up when interacting with children. I connected with him in a special way, because I seen many of my father's positive attributes in him. The importance of being kind to one another, helping those you can, doing what is right and just, living your life in way that does not cause harm to others, and even though his kids were adults, he never stopped being a father. He was a man of honor and dedication, not only to his family, but his career and community. I will always remember how he greeted us when he entered the room, "Hey, there!" in his cheerful voice with a smile. Such a kind soul. He will be deeply missed.

Dearest Family,
We were devastated to hear of Louis passing away from COVID!
My husband Stan Green and I spent some time talking affectionately about memories of him.
To my husband Stan, 'Charlie' saw him at the dog track back in the day! They loved playing the dogs and we last bumped into him at the horses:)
I was originally at Nicollet Garage and been around Metro Transit 31 years. I had the privilege to work with Louis for 10 years. What a truly 'nice' man, what a truly 'wonderful and kind' man this world has lost.
We truly mourn with you all.
With Love and Gratitude for each and every day we have on this earth,
