Justin Carter Williams' Obituary
Justin Carter Williams, 61, of St. Paul, Minnesota passed away on April 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A. Williams, mother, Joan B. (Carter) Williams and sister Trenese Brown. Justin is survived by his wife, Julia, daughter, Thalia, and siblings Donald, Mark (Deborah), Kirk, Jon, Alan (Berthe), Jean (Ed Surko), Stacie (Leonard) Crawford, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Justin was a beloved mentor to his many nieces and nephews.
Justin was born November 19, 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and raised in the Summit-University neighborhood. He graduated from Cretin High School in 1977 and studied Computer Science at Lakewood Technical College.
Justin worked extensively with technology beginning at age 19, and his career was full of creative innovation. He worked for many years at Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo) as Communications Manager in Network Operations and Support. Justin went on to become Partner and Vice President of Synet Corporation as well as the Vice President of Customer Support, Infrastructure Management and Strategic Alliances for Predictive Systems, Inc.
Justin always had an entrepreneurial mind and spirit. He founded the company Securonet and designed a cloud-based platform that enabled law enforcement agencies and the private sector to collaborate on a common platform to help reduce and solve crime. His ingenious product is used by law enforcement in multiple cities and at large public events including Super Bowl LII and a Major League All-Star game. Justin also designed, developed and sold Field Watch, a web-based product used by law enforcement to view officer locations, live video, and stored video evidence. Justin’s latest venture was as an independent Information Technology Consultant.
Justin will be remembered for his love of family, gourmet cooking, vigorous debating, and playing the drums. Most recently, he was a member of the St. Paul based band, Midnight Mo.
Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00pm on July 30, at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. Memorials to Thalia’s college fund would be much appreciated.
